Position Summary

The Branch Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of branch performance, including team development, customer experience, operational excellence, and business growth. This role serves as both a leader and active contributor, ensuring the branch operates efficiently while building strong relationships within the community.

This position plays a key role in fulfilling the bank’s purpose of building meaningful relationships as we invest in our communities by delivering exceptional service, fostering trust, and supporting local growth.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Leadership & Team Development

Supervise, coach, and develop branch staff, including tellers and personal bankers
Set clear expectations, performance goals, and accountability standards
Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and coaching
Foster a positive, inclusive, and service-driven team culture
Address performance concerns in a timely and professional manner

  1. Customer Experience & Relationship Management

Ensure a high level of customer service and relationship-based banking
Resolve escalated customer concerns with professionalism and care
Build and maintain meaningful relationships with customers and community members
Promote a customer-first culture aligned with the bank’s purpose

  1. Business Development & Community Engagement

Actively participate in business development activities, including calls, networking, and community events
Partner with lenders, treasury, and other departments to grow deposits and lending relationships
Identify opportunities to expand the branch’s customer base and community presence

  1. Operations Management

Oversee daily branch operations, including opening/closing, cash handling, and transaction processing
Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to internal procedures
Assist with teller functions as needed, including overrides and balancing
Review teller activity, vault balances, and operational reports

  1. Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure adherence to all banking regulations and internal policies (including CRA, AML/CFT, and audit requirements)
Monitor for fraud, suspicious activity, and operational risk
Maintain audit readiness and support internal and external reviews
Ensure proper documentation and internal controls are consistently followed

  1. Financial & Administrative Oversight

Manage branch budget, expenses, supplies, and purchasing
Review and approve employee timecards and expense reports
Monitor reports (e.g., NSF activity) and communicate relevant information to leadership
Ensure timely and accurate completion of required reporting

  1. Communication & Collaboration

Maintain effective communication with operations and leadership
Participate in management meetings and provide updates on branch performance
Collaborate with internal partners to support overall bank strategic initiatives

QualificationsSkills & Competencies

Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Sound judgment and decision-making ability
Ability to adapt to change and guide others through change
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and banking systems
Bilingual skills are a plus

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial institution
Prior management or supervisory experience preferred
