Technical Writer
About this role
We are looking for a Technical Writer with 4+ years of experience to own how Firecrawl explains itself to developers and how developers discover us. You must be a developer-native writer who can read Python, TypeScript, and pull apart APIs to write docs that developers trust. This is Firecrawl's first in-house technical writer — you'll own the entire documentation surface end-to-end, reporting directly to the co-founder/CGO. We're building essential infrastructure that AI agents and LLMs use to gather data from the web, and your writing will be the first thing developers interact with.
What will you be doing?
Owning all docs end-to-end: API reference, SDK guides, quickstarts, tutorials, and cookbooks — writing for both human developers and AI agents consuming the docs
Auditing existing documentation, identifying what's missing or broken, and shipping high-leverage fixes fast (rewriting the quickstart, fixing the time-to-first-call path)
Writing technical content that drives organic discovery — both traditional SEO and LLM discoverability (getting cited in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity)
Working directly in the repo (Markdown, MDX, Git, PR workflows) and establishing the docs contribution workflow for the team
Building and proposing a 6-month doc plan tied to the product roadmap, closing feedback loops from GitHub, Discord, and support
