We're a successful and forward-thinking accounting and business advisory firm, working with a wide range of clients across the Waikato region. We're looking for a dedicated Senior Accountant to join our hardworking team in Hamilton, providing hands-on support to our Partners.

We work with a wide range of clients, providing personalised advice built on genuine independence and close client contact. This role suits someone who's genuinely client-focused and comfortable being a reliable point of contact and support while the Partner is out seeing clients.

We are open to applications from candidates looking for 32-40 hours per week. 

Your role, your contribution

  • Produce financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies
  • Preparation of management reports
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts to help clients plan cash-based transactions and meet their financial commitments
  • Consistently deliver quality accountancy services with efficiency and accuracy, helping clients understand their tax liabilities and due dates well in advance so they can plan ahead
  • Work with a range of leading accounting software systems, helping clients get the most out of their system for their business needs
  • Build genuine relationships with clients, acting as a trusted point of contact and supporting the Partner's client base day to day

What you bring to the role

  • Proven accounting experience within public practice
  • CA or CPA qualification, or working towards this (desirable)
  • Experience across a broad range of tax, accounting and business matters
  • A genuinely client-focused approach, with the ability to build trust and support a Partner's client relationships while they're out of office
  • The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
