Material Program Manager (MPM)- Supply Chain
Location: Houston, TX 77064 (onsite)

A Materials Program Manager (MPM) orchestrates the supply chain, material planning, and readiness for manufacturing to ensure on-time production builds. They bridge engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to manage costs, inventory, and supply risks from development through end-of-life.
Clear-to-build (CTB) Management: provide visibility to materials supply, highlights projected coverage and constrains. CTB projections govern what the Supply-Demand Managers (SDM) can commit to customers and are a key input to revenue projections provided to our C-level executives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage all materials-related activities for assigned programs from NPI through full production lifecycle.
  • Develop and implement material readiness plans to ensure alignment with customer requirements.
  • Communicate material needs and updates clearly and effectively to internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of products and materials by actively managing supplier relationships.
  • Monitor and control material costs to meet profitability targets.
  • Manage excess and obsolete inventory following company policies.
  • Prepare and communicate critical Materials updates at weekly Sustaining Executive Program reviews; High risk parts, how being strategic, risk buys, looks out 12-28 weeks ahead
  • Partner with manufacturing to develop a model that incorporate the specific Supply Chain and material flow details to project availability in support our supply/demand goals.
  • Manage consigned material deliveries in conjunction with build plan
  • Work fluidly in a highly cross-functional team environment involving manufacturing, program management, product development teams, design engineers, supply chain, production control and logistics teams
  • Coordinate and support material quotation activities to meet customer timelines and cost.
  • Provide materials status updates to cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment across engineering, operations, and procurement.
  • Oversee material pipelining strategies to support a seamless transition from NPI (New
  • Product Introduction) to volume production.
  • Support global supply chain transfers, particularly between San Jose and offshore production facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field is required (MBA is a plus.)
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in materials management or supplier management.
  • APICS certification is desirable.
  • Must be familiar with electronics material management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
  • Must show leadership managing inventory/material flow
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments and across global facilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management capabilities
