Associate, Securities Litigation Group
About this role
Fenwick & West’s Securities Litigation Group handles a broad mix of civil and regulatory matters for corporate and individual clients. The associate will work on securities class actions, derivative suits, merger litigation, and related civil actions, while also supporting internal investigations, regulatory matters, and white-collar defense. This role offers exposure to world-leading technology and life sciences clients and opportunities to litigate and investigate on the front lines.
What youll do
- Represent issuers and their directors/officers in securities class actions, derivative suits, merger litigation, and related civil actions arising from securities disputes.
- Advise and assist with internal investigations related to accounting fraud, whistleblower claims, and anti-bribery matters (FCPA), including work with audit and special committees.
- Defend companies and individuals in DOJ and SEC investigations and regulatory proceedings.
- Collaborate with the Securities Litigation Group to handle complex investigatory and regulatory matters for technology and life sciences clients.
What Fenwick & West is looking for
- At least 4+ years of Securities Litigation experience, preferably at a leading AmLaw corporate firm.
- Bar admission in the state of the applying office or eligible to sit/waive into the next bar exam.
- Experience representing issuers and directors/officers in securities class actions.
- Experience handling internal investigations related to accounting fraud or whistleblower claims.
- Experience defending companies or individuals in DOJ/SEC investigations.
- Superior academic credentials; top law school preferred or high GPA; top-tier GPA if not from a top law school.
- Preferably located in San Francisco or Silicon Valley.
