Felix Construction Company is seeking an experienced Project Executive – Industrial Controls to provide senior-level leadership for our industrial controls projects. In this role, you will serve as a trusted partner to clients, oversee multiple projects and teams, drive pursuit and proposal strategies, and mentor Project Managers, Design Engineers and Fabricators. You will play a key role in strengthening client relationships, supporting business unit growth, and upholding the quality, expertise, and customer service that define Felix Construction.

This position is ideal for a construction leader with deep experience in industrial controls, project delivery, and team development who thrives on building lasting relationships and guiding successful project outcomes.

\nWhat You'll Do
  • Serve as a senior leader managing client relationships and overseeing multiple industrial controls and water/wastewater construction projects.
  • Perform and lead all responsibilities associated with a Senior Project Manager-level role when needed.
  • Assign workload and project responsibilities across Project Managers and Project Engineers based on workload capacity, strengths, and development opportunities.
  • Act as a key leader within the region, contributing to the vision, strategy, goals, and execution of the business unit.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop Project Managers, Design Engineers and Fabricators to support professional growth and project success.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and other industry stakeholders.
  • Lead project pursuits, including bid reviews, proposal development, interview preparation, and overall pursuit strategy.
  • Review opportunities and provide guidance on project selection, risk management, and execution planning.
  • Understand and utilize Felix Construction’s estimating processes, including conceptual estimating and detailed project estimates.
  • Review and provide feedback on project execution plans, work packages, schedules, shutdown plans, and overall project performance.
  • Support value engineering efforts by collaborating with owners and engineers to identify practical, cost-effective solutions that strengthen client relationships and project outcomes.
  • Ensure project communications, documentation, and correspondence are professional, accurate, and timely while coaching team members to do the same.
  • Provide market insights and client intelligence to company leadership to support strategic planning and business development efforts.
  • Actively participate in industry organizations, events, and networking activities to strengthen Felix Construction’s presence in the marketplace.
  • Champion accountability, quality, safety, and operational excellence across all assigned projects and teams.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to support organizational initiatives and long-term growth objectives
Who You Are
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience managing complex construction projects, preferably within industrial controls, water, wastewater, or related infrastructure markets.
  • Proven success leading multiple projects simultaneously while managing client relationships and project teams.Demonstrated ability to develop, mentor, and lead Project Managers and Project Engineers.
  • Strong understanding of construction estimating, project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and project execution.
  • Experience leading project pursuits, bid reviews, proposal preparation, and client presentations.
  • Deep knowledge of construction industry standards, contracting practices, project delivery methods, and risk management principles.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify opportunities, navigate challenges, and support strategic growth initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to effectively engage clients, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with sound judgment, initiative, and attention to detail.Ability to interpret project specifications, drawings, technical documents, and business information.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, and/or Bluebeam.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred or required.
  • Ability to work effectively in office environments and visit construction sites, job trailers, and client locations as needed.Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
