Great account managers don't simply maintain accounts. They become the person customers trust when something matters.

Fairchild Freight is looking for an experienced Senior Account Manager who knows how to build that kind of relationship and turn strong customer partnerships into profitable growth.

This is a revenue-generating role for someone who understands freight markets, can confidently navigate pricing and capacity conversations, and knows how to identify opportunities others might miss.

We're looking for someone who can OWN the account, not simply service it.

Your Mission

Your mission is to build and grow profitable customer relationships while creating new opportunities for Fairchild Freight.

You will manage and expand existing shipper accounts while actively developing new business. You will become a trusted transportation partner to your customers; understanding their business, anticipating their needs, solving problems, and finding ways to deliver greater value.

When you're successful, customers won't simply view Fairchild Freight as another transportation provider. They'll view us as a partner they want to grow with.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, you will be expected to

Build strong, long-term relationships with key customer decision-makers.

Manage and strategically grow a portfolio of shipper accounts.

Identify and secure new business opportunities.

Expand freight volume, lanes, and services within existing customer relationships.

Develop account strategies that drive profitable revenue growth and customer retention.

Confidently navigate pricing, capacity, and transportation agreement discussions.

Understand your customers' businesses well enough to identify opportunities and anticipate challenges.

Serve as a trusted advisor while delivering exceptional customer service.

Collaborate closely with operations teams to ensure commitments are executed successfully.

Maintain accurate pipeline, customer activity, and account information in the CRM.

Take ownership when problems arise and drive them toward resolution.

Consistently demonstrate that you can grow the relationship, not simply manage it.

QualificationsThe Person Who Will Thrive Here

You know freight.
You understand that markets move, capacity changes, pricing matters, and customer needs don't always fit neatly into a predictable day.
You are comfortable having commercial conversations with customers and understand how to balance great service with profitable growth.
You are naturally curious. You ask questions. You want to understand how your customers operate, what matters to them, where they're experiencing challenges, and where Fairchild Freight can create additional value.
Most importantly, you take ownership. You don't wait for someone else to identify the opportunity, solve the problem, or follow up with the customer. You see what needs to happen and you make it happen.

What Will Make You Stand Out

Tell us about results. We want to hear about the account you grew, the customer you won, the relationship you expanded, or the opportunity you uncovered that others missed.

We're interested in people who can point to their work and say: “Here's what I was responsible for. Here's what I did. And here's what changed because I was there.”

Why Fairchild Freight?

This could be more than your next job. It could be the opportunity that changes the trajectory of your career.

At Fairchild Freight, you'll have the opportunity to learn, grow, take on meaningful challenges, and build your career alongside leaders who are invested in your success.

You'll work directly with one of the best VPs of Sales in the business—a leader who knows transportation, knows how to develop people, and wants to help good sales professionals become great ones. You'll also work for a company owner who genuinely values his team, recognizes strong performance, and believes the people building the business should share in its success.

We work hard, hold ourselves accountable, celebrate wins, and believe there should be a little fun along the way.

If you're hungry to learn, open to being coached, and ready to see what you're capable of in the right environment, there is real opportunity here to grow, not just your income, but your skills, confidence, and career.

Think this might be you?

Send us your resume or reach out to me directly at [email protected]. If you're currently employed and simply curious about the opportunity, that's okay too. I'm happy to have a confidential conversation and tell you more about the team, the role, and where this opportunity could take you.
