Who We Need
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Management Accountant to act as an Individual Contributor (IC) handling day-to-day financial operations for a UK-based client. In this role, you will take full ownership of maintaining general ledgers in Xero, managing online banking operations, preparing draft management accounts under UK principles, and ensuring accurate UK VAT handling.

What You'll Do:

• Banking Operations: Set up supplier and payroll payments, download electronic bank statements, and execute daily transactions.
• Management Accounts Preparation: Prepare draft monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and period-end schedules following UK accounting principles.
• General Ledger & Bookkeeping: Manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions in Xero, including processing bills, sales invoices, journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and account reconciliations.
• VAT Compliance: Review, calculate, and prepare UK VAT returns in accordance with HMRC regulations and basic UK VAT rules.
• Financial Reconciliations: Perform regular balance sheet, bank, and intercompany reconciliations to maintain general ledger accuracy.

What You Need:

• Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in bookkeeping, management accounting, or financial operations supporting UK-based businesses or jurisdictions operating under similar accounting principles.
• Accounting Expertise: Strong foundational knowledge of UK accounting principles, general ledger maintenance, month-end accruals, prepayments, and basic UK VAT rules.
• Technical Skills: Hands-on proficiency with Xero for transactional accounting and experience navigating corporate banking platform for downloading statements and setting up supplier or payroll payments.
• Organization & Detail: Exceptional attention to detail in ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and financial documentation with a demonstrated ability to work accurately as an independent contributor (IC).
• Communication: Excellent written and spoken English skills to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders, external accountants, and banking partners.
• Adaptability: Ability to manage daily financial workflows independently, exercise sound financial judgment, and adapt to established processes.
• Preferred: An ACCA, CIMA, or AAT qualification (or equivalent coursework), or prior experience handling multi-currency reconciliations and Making Tax Digital (MTD) VAT submissions.
• Commitment: Demonstrated interest in a long-term career opportunity and contributing to a stable, collaborative financial operations team.
• Remote Work Setup: Dedicated home office with reliable high-speed internet and backup connectivity to ensure secure, uninterrupted financial and banking operations.

Technical Requirements

• Fiber internet (PLDT Fiber, Converge, Globe Fiber, etc.) – recommended speed of 100/50 Mbps
• Backup internet (mobile hotspot or secondary ISP) capable of at least 20 Mbps
• Quiet, secure, and private home workspace to protect sensitive financial and banking data
• OPTIONAL: Wired Ethernet connection preferred during work hours
• OPTIONAL: Power backup (UPS) if the location experiences frequent outages
