The Billing Specialist is responsible for managing and executing the billing process accurately and efficiently, ensuring that all invoices are processed and sent to clients in a timely manner. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing invoices in a timely manner based on contractual terms and services provided.
  • Review and verify billing data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and disputes in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain and update billing records and client accounts.
  • Collaboration with the operations team to ensure proper documentation is received from our drivers.
  • Assist in month-end closing and reconciliation processes.
  • Answer phone calls and assist clients with billing inquiries and issues.
  • Receiving and organizing incoming payments, verifying credibility, and posting payments in a timely manner.
  • Update our system with payment information and other financial data.
  • Notify clients of upcoming or missed payment deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with billing software is a plus.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation:

  • $26.00 - $31.00
  • Eligible for year-end bonus

Requirements

Education and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field preferred
  • Basic understanding of billing principles
  • At least 2 years of logistics or accounting experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with billing software is a plus.
  • Previous industry experience preferred
