Finance Manager
About this role
The Finance Manager, based in Mexico City, will lead the Mexico Centre of Excellence (CoE) reporting to the Group Financial Controller in London.
This role is responsible for overseeing transactional finance operations (Accounts Payable and Cashbook) across the USA and Mexico, ensuring robust controls, accuracy and efficiency of processes. In addition, the role will take ownership of payroll accounting, statutory reporting and tax compliance for the Mexico legal entity, working closely with external advisors and the Group Finance team.
Key responsibilitiesOversight of Mexico Finance Centre of Excellence
· Lead and develop a two person team (AP and Cashbook), fostering accountability, engagement and continuous improvement
· Ensure accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and expense claims
· Oversee controlled and compliant payment runs, including cash planning and scheduling
· Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are completed on time, reviewed, and any differences resolved (including suppliers and corporate cards)
· Maintain strong internal controls across all transactional processes
· Implement, monitor and continuously improve group standardised processes, controls and documentation across the CoE
· Manage payroll coordination, ensuring accurate payments, journals and balance sheet reconciliations are done
Statutory Reporting & Tax Compliance - Mexico
· Maintain complete and accurate financial records in line with local GAAP and Group policies, liaising with local external accountant and advisor where necessary
· Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and reviewed in line with Group policy
· Manage relationships with external accountants and tax advisors
· Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of:
- Statutory financial statements
- Corporate income tax returns
- VAT (IVA) returns and refund claims
· Support Group tax processes, including tax provisions and ad hoc queries
· Oversee balance sheet accounts relating to tax (corporate tax and VAT/IVA)
· Minimum two years of people management experience, with a track record of developing junior team members
· Proven experience managing transactional finance processes (AP, payments, cashbook)
· Good understanding of indirect tax and corporate income tax compliance
· Qualified accountant preferred (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CPA or local equivalent such as Contador Público)
· Experience of Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred
· Proactive and able to work independently
· Strong control mindset with high attention to detail
· Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
· Confident working with stakeholders across different countries and cultures
· Collaborative, with ability to influence and improve processes
· Fluent in Spanish and English
