General Ledger Accountant

About the job:

The main purpose of the role is to operate and oversee the GL activities of legal entities(s). The Senior Financial Accountant will manage complex accounting.

  • Perform accounting activities in compliance with US GAAP
  • Prepare and maintain accounting records in accordance with US GAAP
  • Provide monthly reconciliation on key and non-key accounts
  • Manage non-recurring journals, ensure approvals and proper evidence
  • Audit support (internally and externally)
  • Support the implementation of an automated accounting tool, provide recommendations for accounting simplification projects
  • Solving accounting issues

What we are looking for:

  • Economics or Finance & Accounting BA/BSc degree
  • 3+ years finance and accounting experience
  • Experience in managing GL accounting and related SOX control
  • Fluency in English & Hungarian (both written and verbal)
  • Confident usage of ERP systems
  • Excel skills and general IT literacy
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Developed analytical, excellent interpersonal & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet priorities and deadlines, and to work under time pressure


Nice to have:

  • Understanding of US GAAP, SOX & Control
  • Other European language knowledge
