About this opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated intern to support our Technology/IT Operations and AI Automation function within the cellular networking services business. This role provides hands-on experience developing tools and automation solutions that improve RAN deployment, engineering, construction, and operational workflows.
The intern will collaborate with technical and business teams to identify repetitive manual processes, document requirements, prototype solutions, and support the deployment of automation that increases efficiency, improves data quality, and reduces errors.
What you will do:
- Work with RAN engineering, construction, field operations, project management, and business teams to identify automation opportunities.
- Document current workflows, process requirements, data sources, bottlenecks, and expected outcomes.
- Develop or enhance scripts, applications, dashboards, integrations, and automation frameworks.
- Prototype AI-assisted solutions for document processing, reporting, data validation, knowledge retrieval, and workflow support.
- Automate repetitive activities such as data entry, file organization, status reporting, quality checks, notifications, and system updates.
- Integrate internal tools and approved third-party platforms using APIs, databases, and automation technologies.
- Clean, organize, transform, and validate operational data used in automation and reporting.
- Develop test cases and perform functional, integration, and user-acceptance testing.
- Document system designs, configurations, code, operating procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Monitor deployed solutions, investigate issues, and recommend performance or reliability improvements.
- Collect user feedback and refine tools to improve usability and business value.
- Maintain project trackers and prepare progress reports covering accomplishments, risks, issues, and upcoming activities.
- Follow company and customer requirements for cybersecurity, data privacy, access control, confidentiality, and responsible AI use.
- Escalate technical risks, data-quality concerns, and security issues to the appropriate team lead.
The skills you bring:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, or basic programming (Python, scripting)
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams and adapt to dynamic environments
- Familiarity with project management, data analysis, or IT operations (preferred but not required)
- Comfort learning telecommunications concepts and technical tools
- Telecommunications infrastructure, RAN architecture, and network deployment fundamentals
- RF principles, network optimization techniques, and performance metrics
- Construction project workflows, site logistics, and operational best practices
- Project and program management tools, methodologies, and governance
- Automation frameworks, scripting, and tools relevant to network operations
- Data analysis and visualization for network performance and operational insights
- Cross-functional collaboration in a complex, regulated industry
