Commissioning Director (M/ W)
Location: Bristol (UK)
Your role and responsibilities:
Reporting to the Project Director, you will lead the commissioning strategy and execution for the EDG scope of the Hinkley Point C project, ensuring the successful transition from construction completion to operational readiness.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Defining and deploying the commissioning strategy and execution plan.
- Managing commissioning teams throughout preparation, testing and handover phases.
- Coordinating commissioning activities with engineering, construction, quality and client stakeholders.
- Ensuring readiness of systems, documentation and resources for commissioning activities.
- Managing commissioning schedules, priorities and interfaces across multiple workstreams.
- Supervising system and integrated testing activities.
- Ensuring compliance with nuclear, regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Driving resolution of technical issues, punch-list items and non-conformities.
- Overseeing performance testing and final acceptance processes.
- Supporting the client through handover and operational readiness activities.
Your profile :
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in commissioning management on large industrial projects.
- Extensive experience within nuclear, power generation or highly regulated industries.
- Strong knowledge of system testing, operational readiness and project handover processes.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary commissioning teams.
- Excellent ability to manage interfaces between engineering, construction and operations.
- Strong communication, leadership and negotiation skills.
- Fluent English required;
- Experience working on EPC or major infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
