What You'll Do
Join the industry-leading Unreal Engine team as a Senior Technical Artist and help shape the future of the world and content creation. You'll work hands-on across the full development cycle from procedural content generation to world partition streaming, modeling, and terrain tools to define what best-in-class tools look like for creators across all platforms.
In this role, you will
- Contribute to the design and iterative development of world building and content creation tools in Unreal Engine
- Partner with Programming and UX teams to design workflows and build applicable solutions
- Ensure tools are best-in-class by creating prototypes, demos, and examples, and providing ongoing feedback
- Drive product initiatives with minimal direction
- Engage with internal Epic Games production teams and external users to understand their needs and requirements
- Apply subject matter expertise to influence product deliverables and manage the product roadmap
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to articulate the problems you're solving and the value delivered to users
What we're looking for
- Experience in world-building and/or content creation (as a Senior Technical Artist or equivalent), working alongside strong programming teams
- Subject matter expertise in environment and asset production, 3D modeling, geometry scripting, and procedural content generation
- Experience with Unreal's Procedural Content Generation (PCG) Framework, Houdini, Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender
- Ability to represent user needs and think across near-term (tactics) and long-term (strategy) product goals
- Experience driving product initiatives and seeing features through from development to productization
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage complex tasks, adapt to shifting scope, and work across cross-functional teams
- Scripting experience or strong technical fundamentals
- Artistic skills or a strong eye for evaluating artistic work
- Experience with Unreal Engine, Unity, or a proprietary game engine is a plus
This role is open to multiple locations in North America (including CA, NYC, & WA).

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
