MARKETING
What We Do
We deliver the most innovative gaming experiences possible to players around the world. Whether through community outreach, world-class events, or partnership integrations, the Epic Games Publishing and Marketing teams seek to surprise players with new experiences every time they drop in to play.
What You'll Do
Epic Games is looking for a Player Marketing Director to lead player-facing marketing strategy across the Fortnite ecosystem — including Fortnite itself, third-party content and experiences on the platform. This role owns the connection between our games and our players, turning insight into campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and retention at scale, while helping stand up marketing plans for new experiences moving toward launch.
You'll bring rigor to how the team plans, measures, and prioritizes: building real player-funnel visibility, a stronger measurement and experimentation practice, and clear, executive-ready storytelling around impact. You'll manage a small team of marketing managers and report directly to the Senior Director of Marketing.
In this role, you will
- Own player marketing strategy and execution across a portfolio of 2nd & 3rd party content in the Fortnite ecosystem, including UEFN games, developer-built experiences and more
- Lead marketing planning for new experiences and IP programs as they move toward launch, partnering closely with product and studio teams from early development onward
- Build and scale a data-driven marketing practice: define KPIs, build real funnel and player visibility, run experiments, and report results and ROI clearly to senior leadership
- Own genre-focused campaigns, in-game live events, and IP partnership marketing across the portfolio
- Manage, coach, and grow a team of marketing managers, helping the team focus on the highest-impact work rather than spreading thin across every request
- Partner cross-functionally with brand, creative, community, PR, partnerships, data science, product, paid media, and publishing teams, and manage relationships with external partners and licensors
- Represent player marketing in executive conversations — clear, confident, well-prepared storytelling on strategy and impact, not just status updates
What we're looking for
- 8+ years of marketing experience, including several years in player, lifecycle, or growth marketing for games or other live, player-facing products
- Experience building growth strategy and campaigns across a portfolio of titles rather than a single game — comfortable thinking at the level of a connected, multi-title ecosystem
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with hands-on experience in marketing analytics, experimentation/A-B testing, attribution, and funnel measurement
- Track record of prioritizing ruthlessly across a high volume of concurrent workstreams, rather than trying to do everything
- Excellent executive presence and communication — able to tell a clear, credible story about strategy and impact to senior leadership
- Experience working with external partners, licensors, or IP holders
- Comfort operating with ambiguity and adapting plans as new titles and experiences take shape
- Genuine passion for games and an understanding of player and creator communities
- Experience adapting marketing strategies and campaigns across different regional markets and audiences
- Experience managing and developing direct reports
This role is open to multiple locations across the US (including CA, NYC, & WA).
