About the Role

These roles are responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment for employees and visitors. Team members will perform routine cleaning, sanitation, and general building support tasks to ensure the facility meets daily operational and safety standards.

The Day Porter supports daytime operations by addressing immediate cleaning needs, restocking supplies, and assisting with high-traffic areas throughout the day. The Evening Custodian performs scheduled after-hours cleaning and deep cleaning tasks to prepare the facility for the next business day.

Essential Duties 

  • Cleaning and disinfects offices and other common areas within the facility environment to established standards. 
  • Collects and disposes regular trash and recycle materials. 
  • Replenishes, hand soap, hand sanitizers, and other supplies as needed. 
  • Dust mop floors with microfiber using standard operating procedure.
  • Wet mop floors using microfiber material following standard operating procedure.
  • Handles various types of cleaning chemicals in compliance with applicable regulations and utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Dust all horizontal and vertical surfaces, furniture, spot wash walls, clean and polish fixtures, air vents, handrails, blinds, windows/sills and other items as required. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Other Responsibilities 

  • Reports any conditions requiring maintenance attention or repair to supervisor.

Knowledge, Experience and Other Requirements 

  • Previous custodial experience in the industry. 
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions in English.
  • Attendance is a requirement to be successful.

Work Environment 

  • Physical demands include continuous movement, frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals and potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other bodily fluids.
