Job Description
Engrity Group. is seeking an experienced Piping QC Inspector for a short-term industrial site assignment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for piping and welding inspection activities, with a primary focus on fit-up and closure weld inspections. This position is suited for an experienced inspector who is comfortable working in an active industrial environment, walking extended distances, and performing full-day inspection activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct piping inspection activities in accordance with applicable project specifications, drawings, ITPs, and codes and standards.
- Perform fit-up inspections prior to welding, including joint preparation, alignment, root gap, bevel condition, dimensions, and component orientation.
- Perform closure weld inspections and verify compliance with approved requirements.
- Conduct visual inspections of piping welds and associated fabrication activities.
- Review drawings, specifications, WPSs, ITPs, and other project documentation as required.
- Verify piping components, weld identification, traceability, and installation against approved documentation.
- Document inspection findings and maintain accurate daily inspection records and reports.
- Identify and report non-conforming work and support corrective actions where required.
- Coordinate with welders, supervisors, construction personnel, engineers, and other QC/inspection personnel to maintain inspection progress.
- Complete full-day inspection activities while working on foot throughout the site.
- Follow all site safety requirements, procedures, and client expectations.
Required Qualifications
- CWB Level II certification is required.
- Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3.
- Strong knowledge of CSA W59.
- Previous experience with piping fit-up and closure weld inspections is preferred.
- Industrial, oil & gas, construction, or turnaround experience is an asset.
- Ability to interpret piping drawings, weld symbols, specifications, WPSs, and inspection documentation.
- Ability to work extended hours and walk significant distances throughout the workday.
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

This shutdown project offers an excellent opportunity for experienced QC Welding Inspectors looking to support critical turnaround work at an industrial facility in Fort Saskatchewan.
Candidates who apply will also be considered for upcoming shutdowns, turnarounds, and future projects with our company. Successful applicants may also be integrated into our new web application platform, designed to improve communication, project tracking, and inspector management.
