About this role

The Role

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic business partner to the Changzhou manufacturing base leadership team, aligning human resources strategies with the rapid scaling of our gigawatt-level energy storage manufacturing facility. You will drive organizational design, talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, and culture building, supporting cross-functional teams across Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Supply Chain, and Operations.

This role requires a deep understanding of manufacturing operations in the battery or clean energy sector, hands-on HRBP experience in a high-growth environment, and solid capabilities in driving HR initiatives from zero to one. You will closely collaborate with global HR at headquarters and local management to build an agile, high-performing, and compliant organization in Changzhou, with fluent oral and written English required for global communication.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnering & Organizational Design

  • Deeply understand the Changzhou base's business strategy, capacity ramp-up targets, and operational priorities; align HR solutions directly with manufacturing roadmap and talent demands.
  • Lead organizational structure optimization, job architecture definition, and headcount planning to ensure efficient cross-departmental workflows and clear accountability.
  • Facilitate change management during capacity expansion and organizational iterations, driving organizational agility and operational efficiency.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Partner with TA team and department leaders to define talent profiles, build hiring pipelines, and execute talent acquisition plans for key technical, engineering, and management roles in Changzhou.
  • Develop tailored workforce planning strategies balancing full-time technical experts, blue-collar operators, and external contractor resources during factory scaling.
  •  Oversee onboarding, orientation, and probation evaluation processes to ensure smooth talent integration and early retention.

Performance Management & Compensation

  • Drive the end-to-end performance management lifecycle (OKR/KPI setting, mid-year/annual reviews, performance coaching) tailored for manufacturing and R&D functions.
  • Partner with global C&B team to implement localized, market-competitive compensation frameworks, incentive schemes, and retention plans for critical talents.
  • Leverage performance insights to identify talent gaps, high-potential employees, and performance improvement opportunities.

Talent Development & Succession Planning

  • Identify capability gaps across teams; design and implement structured training and leadership development programs for frontline supervisors and technical leads.
  • Establish key position succession plans and talent pipelines to support business continuity during multi-phase facility expansions.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and technical skill matrix evaluations on the manufacturing floor.

Employee Relations & Labor Compliance

  • Build a transparent, positive, and mission-driven workplace culture aligned with EnerVenue's global values.
  • Manage labor compliance, employee grievances, and dispute resolution in strict accordance with Chinese labor laws, local regulations, and corporate EHS standards.
  • Conduct regular stay interviews and employee engagement surveys, formulating proactive action plans to lower unwanted turnover.

Global HR Alignment & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the key liaison between China business operations and US Headquarters HR; ensure local execution complies with global HR policies while adapting to local context.
  • Prepare bilingual HR metrics reports, participate in global HR alignment meetings, and drive global talent/HR projects in China.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, EHS, Administration, and Operations teams to ensure seamless factory site support.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above; majors in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related disciplines.
  • A minimum of 6 years of HR experience with at least 3–4 years as a dedicated HRBP in high-tech manufacturing, new energy, energy storage, or semiconductor sectors.
  • Solid hands-on experience in building HR processes or participating in the zero-to-one ramp-up phase of a manufacturing plant.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR modules, with strength in talent acquisition, performance management, organizational structure design, and employee relations.
  • Proficient in Chinese Labor Law, local labor regulations in Jiangsu/Changzhou, and compliance standards for manufacturing operations.
  • Fluent oral and written English for daily seamless communication with US corporate HR and executive teams; capable of hosting bilingual meetings and drafting English reports.
  • Professional Mandarin for internal team management and employee communications.
  • Based in Changzhou, Jiangsu or willing to relocate to Changzhou manufacturing base on a long-term basis.

Preferred Qualifications
