Job Purpose

The Manager – Supply Chain will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities for large-scale ground-mounted solar projects. The role will oversee sourcing of major equipment, materials, services, and logistics across DC, AC, substation, and transmission line packages, while ensuring competitive pricing, timely delivery, vendor quality, and effective supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement and sourcing activities for large ground-mounted solar projects, including DC side, AC side, substations, transmission lines, and major equipment.
  • Source and manage vendors for equipment, installation services, transportation, O&M spares, and other project requirements.
  • Identify, evaluate, approve, and develop potential vendors and service providers.
  • Source key electrical equipment including transformers, HT/LT panels up to 110 kV, power and communication cables, and other BOS items.
  • Prepare and evaluate quotations, conduct commercial comparisons, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing.
  • Create and manage purchase orders through SAP and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for material movement, storage, stock management, and inventory control.
  • Ensure GRN creation and timely submission of required documents for payment processing.
  • Maintain procurement documentation including order acknowledgements, warranty certificates, BGs, invoices, delivery records, and import documentation.
  • Monitor vendor account statements and coordinate periodic reconciliation.
  • Prepare procurement reports, cost analyses, and MIS covering order status, delivery, payment, and warranty information.
  • Monitor stock levels and initiate procurement based on project requirements.
  • Work closely with the Pre-Bid team to provide procurement and costing inputs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable ISO and procurement documentation requirements

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree, preferably in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
  • Mechanical Engineering candidates may also be considered with relevant experience.

Experience & Skills

  • 12–15 years of experience in direct purchasing/procurement roles.
  • Strong experience in procurement for large-scale ground-mounted solar projects.
  • Good understanding of supply chain procedures, procurement, and contracts.
  • Strong vendor network and experience in vendor identification, sourcing, and vendor approval processes.
  • Hands-on experience in costing of civil and electrical works, including HT/LT panels, power cables, transformers, substations, and transmission line items.
  • Experience in domestic logistics management.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and working knowledge of SAP.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, particularly Pre-Bid, Project, Warehouse, Finance, and Logistics teams.
  • Good communication skills in English
