Are you an experienced QA/QC Officer with a Mechanical background looking for your next opportunity?

We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from skilled and detail-oriented QA/QC Officers (Mechanical) for upcoming shutdown, turnaround, and maintenance projects across major mining and industrial operations in the Gladstone region.

As project activity continues to grow, we are building a talent pool of quality professionals to support future maintenance campaigns and critical asset integrity programs.

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Quality Manager and Site Leadership Team, you will be responsible for ensuring mechanical maintenance and shutdown works are completed in accordance with project specifications, client requirements, relevant standards, and quality management systems.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Conducting quality inspections of mechanical maintenance and shutdown activities
  • Reviewing work packs, ITPs, quality documentation, and inspection records
  • Verifying compliance with project specifications, drawings, procedures, and Australian Standards
  • Performing mechanical inspections on fixed plant equipment, piping, structural components, rotating equipment, and associated assets
  • Coordinating and witnessing testing activities where required
  • Managing quality records, punch lists, NCRs, and close-out documentation
  • Liaising with site supervisors, trades personnel, clients, and contractors
  • Supporting project teams to achieve quality objectives while maintaining production schedules
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence

What We're Looking For

To be successful in these opportunities, you will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a QA/QC Officer, Quality Inspector, or Quality Coordinator within mining, maintenance, shutdown, construction, or heavy industrial environments
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, quality assurance systems, and inspection methodologies
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and inspection test plans (ITPs)
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards
Essential Requirements
  • Mechanical Trade Qualification (Fitter, Boilermaker, Mechanical Technician or equivalent)
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Construction White Card
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
  • Australian working rights
Highly Desirable
  • Previous shutdown and turnaround experience
  • Experience in mining, mineral processing, LNG, ports, power generation, or heavy industry
  • NACE, ICorr, Welding Inspection, or other relevant quality certifications
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Experience with pressure equipment, piping systems, and fixed plant maintenance
  • SAP or CMMS experience
  • Working at Heights and Confined Space certifications
  • Local Gladstone or Central Queensland experience
