Are you a highly skilled Coded or 1st Class Welder looking for your next shutdown or maintenance project?
We are seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from experienced and safety-focused welders for upcoming shutdown, turnaround, and maintenance works across major mining, mineral processing, port, and heavy industrial facilities in the Gladstone region.
With several projects anticipated throughout the year, we are building a pool of qualified welding professionals who are ready to contribute to critical maintenance and asset integrity programs.
About the RoleAs a Coded or 1st Class Welder, you will perform high-quality welding, repair, and maintenance activities on fixed plant equipment and infrastructure while ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Duties may include:
- Performing coded welding on structural steel, piping, pressure equipment, and fixed plant assets
- Carrying out maintenance, repair, and fabrication activities during shutdown periods
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, weld procedures, and specifications
- Working to approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Completing defect repairs and modifications as required
- Working collaboratively with boilermakers, mechanical crews, supervisors, and QA/QC personnel
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and productivity
- Supporting project teams to meet shutdown schedules and project milestones
To be successful, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Coded or 1st Class Welder within mining, industrial maintenance, fabrication, construction, or shutdown environments
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to consistently produce high-quality welds to specification
- Excellent attention to detail and workmanship
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- Trade Qualification – Boilermaker, Metal Fabricator, or equivalent
- Current welding qualifications and/or coding certifications
- Current Driver's Licence
- Construction White Card
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
- Australian working rights
- Previous shutdown and maintenance experience
- Current welding tickets across various processes and materials
- Experience with fixed plant maintenance and repairs
- Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry certifications
- High Risk Work Licences
- Experience working in mining, ports, power generation, LNG, or heavy industrial environments
- Local Gladstone or Central Queensland experience
