The Research and Epidemiology for Adolescent and Child Health (REACH) Center is a new and expanding Center in the Emory+Children's Ecosysyem. The mission of REACH is to reduce the burden of pediatric disease through impactful research, trainings and global knowledge sharing. We welcome post-doctoral candidates who can contribute to the excellence of REACH using multi-omics approaches.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- This postdoctoral fellow will assist with the design and conduct research in the MOLECULAR EPIDEMIOLOGY OF childhood cancer and/or birth defects to understand the factors associated with these conditions.
- Under the supervision of the REACH principal investors, they will designs and conduct population science-based analyses of risk factors for disease risk and outcomes.
- They will utilize publicly and locally available datasets FROM VARIOUS SOURCES (e.g., National Childood Cancer Regisry, Children’s Oncology Group, Kids First) to prepare and publish scientific manuscripts related to these topics.
- They may also teach techniques to others, train, and supervise trainees or research staff on the team.
- Positions are temporary appointments as a research trainee.
- The initial appointment is for one year, renewal expected if progress is satisfactory and funds are available.
- Appointments cannot exceed five years.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS etc) in epidemiology, data science, or another appropriate field within population sciences. Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues.
- Additional qualifications as specified by the Principal Investigator.
NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
