PRIMARY LOCATION: South Hills - must travel to all sites

PRIMARY SCHEDULE: Flexible 20-25 hour work week / some weekend hours as needed

STARTING SALARY: TBD

REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for assisting the Facilities Manager with the general maintenance of all Emmaus sites including homes, vehicles and grounds.
Responds to maintenance requests in a timely manner and ensures completion
Works with volunteers who are helping with facility maintenance
Is available to respond to on-call site emergencies and responds as needed

HOMES:

Ensures that Emmaus’ physical sites remain in compliance with 6400 regulations at all times. Especially 6400.16-86.
Identifies any non-compliance areas and addresses them through to completion in a timely manner.
Assists in bringing new homes into initial compliance for licensing
Generally handyman tasks: appliances, doors, windows, electrical, plumbing, painting etc.

VEHICLES:

Assists Facilities Manager with fleet maintenance.
Addresses “as needed” vehicle issues such as unanticipated repairs, flat tires, etc.
Ensures that all safety needs are in place for all vehicles at all times.

GROUNDS:

Supplements the work done by contracted grounds keeper and Emmaus regarding lawn care, gardening, landscaping, and snow removal as needed
Tends to areas not addressed by contracted grounds keeper to include annual / perennial flower planting, tree / shrub removal, weeding as needed, etc.
Works with program staff to determine needs and how to address them

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in home / building maintenance, good organizational skills, some knowledge of general contracting, small appliance and home repair, High School Diploma, working knowledge of computers. Driver’s license and clean criminal background checks.
