About the Position

Elmira Stamping North is currently seeking a Quality Technician to join our Quality team! The Quality Technician plays an important role in maintaining our quality standards by inspecting parts, identifying quality issues, supporting production, and ensuring products meet customer specifications.

This is a hands-on, floor-based position. The Quality Technician will work closely with production employees and the Quality Manager to identify and resolve quality concerns and keep production moving.

 

What You'll Do

  • Inspect first-piece, in-process, and final parts and materials to ensure they meet customer specifications.
  • Perform hands-on inspections using calipers, gauges, rulers, and other inspection equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Document inspection results, test data, rework, and quality issues accurately.
  • Identify and communicate defects or nonconforming parts to Production and Quality.
  • Work directly with production employees to address quality concerns and support corrective actions.
  • Monitor production processes and recommend adjustments when quality issues are identified.
  • Assist the Quality Manager with daily quality activities, customer requirements, and quality system requirements.
  • Assist with evaluating product specifications and customer requirements.
  • Gather and monitor quality data and assist with reports and analysis.
  • Assist with quality procedures, controls, training, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Help identify the cause of quality issues and document corrective actions.
  • Perform other quality-related duties and projects as assigned.

 

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in quality, inspection, or manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical documents.
  • Experience using calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work directly with production employees and spend the majority of the day on the production floor.

 

Compensation

$22.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience.
