Part-Time Punch Press Maintenance Technician
About this role
Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing is seeking a skilled and dependable Part-Time Punch Press Maintenance Technician to support our manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on punch presses and related production equipment.
The Maintenance Technician will help keep equipment operating safely and efficiently while minimizing unplanned downtime and supporting production goals. The role requires hands-on experience and mechanical aptitude, with responsibilities spanning mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
Position Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on punch presses, feeders, conveyors, and auxiliary production equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues.
- Inspect equipment to identify potential problems and address issues before they result in equipment failure or production downtime.
- Repair, replace, and adjust worn or damaged machine components.
- Maintain proper lubrication of machinery and ensure equipment is operating within required parameters.
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, blueprints, and equipment drawings.
- Assist with punch press setup verification and tooling-related maintenance as needed.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and document completed inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
- Work closely with Production to troubleshoot equipment issues and minimize downtime.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable workplace safety requirements.
- Assist with facility maintenance and other general maintenance projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Knowledge of punch presses, metal stamping equipment, and related production machinery preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, controls, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Welding, machining, fabrication, or other skilled-trade experience is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively to equipment issues in a production environment.

Schedule
Part-Time | Flexible Schedule
Schedule will be based on production and maintenance needs.
Compensation
$22.00–$26.00 per hour
Starting wage will be based on the selected candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
