This position will be based in Springfield, TN.

All about the role:

The Quality Engineer will play a key role in developing and supporting all quality operations within a specified area including, training employees, leading area safety, meeting area quality goals, reducing rejected materials, proactively coordinating the QCP and IPCP, identifying ergonomic issues, and assuring area preparedness. Must lead by example in all areas above and must effectively communicate quality issues (and solutions) with their manager, employees, and cross-functional teams

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement in-process quality controls, error-proofing measures, and process reliability improvements to enhance product quality and reduce defects.

  • Lead quality planning activities, including PPAP development, Quality Control Plans (QCPs), In-Process Control Plans (IPCPs), verification gauges, fixtures, and visual management tools.

  • Partner daily with operations leadership to drive continuous improvement initiatives using EMS principles and the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) methodology.

  • Apply structured problem-solving and data-driven decision-making techniques to identify root causes, improve processes, and resolve quality issues.

  • Monitor quality performance, investigate internal and supplier-related concerns, analyze data, and communicate findings while escalating critical issues as needed.

  • Ensure operational readiness by maintaining equipment availability, supporting employees with necessary resources, and preparing work areas for subsequent shifts.

  • Foster a collaborative and engaged workforce by promoting open communication, strengthening teamwork, managing hold orders efficiently, and supporting overall quality and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting and improving quality operations within manufacturing environments.

  • Demonstrated success in process improvement, quality management, and data analysis to drive operational excellence.

  • Proven expertise applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies; Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and PowerPoint, with strong technical, analytical, and presentation skills.
