SUMMARY

Provides direction and expertise of various engineering entities related to new product introductions, support of purchasing cost reduction efforts, design changes, deviations, and design engineering support in a day-to-day manufacturing environment. Activities include Design Engineering, maintaining Agency compliance (DOE, UL/CSA), testing functions to ensure reliability of manufacturing processes, regulatory product compliance (US DOE) and to act as liaison between the Technical Center and manufacturing on design changes for products that meet or exceed customer expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (What you will do)

1.-Recommends methods, materials and layouts for continuous improvement and innovative projects based on manufacturing and engineering design needs and capabilities.

2.- Supports Cost reduction, product quality improvement, purchasing and new product development efforts.

3.- Conducts engineering design reviews and evaluates and approves drawings, routings, specifications, and other documents.

4.- Works directly with manufacturing and quality management in a team environment for problem solving, buy-in and support of new processes.

5.- Ensures design changes are implemented seamlessly and associated changes do not create unanticipated downtime.

6.- Ensures all platforms meet or exceed energy requirements via routine audits based on Department of Energy requirements.

7.- Responsible for applying all requirements related to EMS, ISO9001/14001/45001/50001/ Green Spirit/Zero Waste Landfill according to the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree Electromechanical, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineer Preferent.

  • Master’s degree is a plus.

  • Must have knowledge of CATIA or CAD.

  • Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including production equipment and tooling specification and capital improvement costing and proposals.

  • Computer proficiency required. The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities with experience in problem (root cause) analysis and problem resolution skills.

  • English written and spoken 70%

  • Process and equipment transference.

  • Ability to work with suppliers.

  • Able to travel.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

1.- Experience in design engineering in a high-volume manufacturing environment required. Refrigeration appliance manufacturing or commercial HVAC manufacturing a definite plus. Experience in providing leadership across functional departmental boundaries is essential.

2.- Significant experience in cross-functional manufacturing processes and thorough understanding of lean manufacturing principles. Supports manufacturing and quality when issues arise with the refrigeration, testing, agency and electrical systems.

3.- Excellent communication skills and unique ability to provide direction of technical and complex issues to non-technical personnel in a manner that is fully understood and supported.

4.- Ability to ensure product is built to specification and support design changes to improve quality and production efficiencies. Track record of successfully completing projects on time and within budget required.

5.- History of successful experience in leadership skills and the development of high-performance work teams including establishing training and development processes and being recognized as a true leader of people.

6.- Previous Experience: 3+ years of design engineering in manufacturing Environment (Preferable) Refrigeration experience a definite plus.

07.- Excellent AS 400 knowledge and handling.

08.- Excellent leadership to organize and accomplish all task required.
