SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of a 104,000-square-foot distribution facility supporting the international distribution of commercial kitchen equipment. This position performs preventative maintenance, repairs, facility upkeep to ensure uninterrupted operations of both warehouse and office environments.
The Maintenance Technician serves as the primary facility maintenance resource and is responsible for maintaining building systems, equipment, grounds, and maintenance records while ensuring compliance with company safety policies and applicable OSHA regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Facility Maintenance - Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on facility equipment and systems. - Maintain warehouse, office, dock equipment, and building infrastructure in safe operating condition. - Inspect and maintain dock doors, dock levelers, drive-up doors, lighting systems, plumbing fixtures, HVAC support systems, and general building components. - Respond to maintenance requests and facility emergencies in a timely manner. - Maintain facility appearance and functionality through routine repairs and upkeep.
- Skilled Trades Perform maintenance and repair activities including: - Basic plumbing repairs and installations - Basic carpentry work - Basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs - Painting, patching, and general building maintenance - Assembly and installation of facility fixtures and equipment
- Maintenance Shop and Inventory Management - Maintain the maintenance crib/shop in a clean, organized, and secure condition. - Ensure proper storage and safeguarding of tools, equipment, and maintenance materials. - Monitor maintenance supplies and spare parts inventory levels. - Order and replenish maintenance materials as needed to support operations.
- Documentation and Administrative Responsibilities - Maintain all required maintenance records, inspection reports, service logs, permits, and compliance documentation. - Ensure records meet company requirements and applicable regulatory requirements. - Track preventative maintenance schedules and completed work. - Prepare reports and documentation as requested by management.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3-5 years of facility maintenance experience in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or industrial environment
- Technical training, trade school certification, or equivalent maintenance experience preferred
- Certified (or able to become certified) to operate lift trucks
- Certified (or able to become certified) to operate scissor lifts
- OSHA safety training experience (OSHA 10 preferred)

WORKING CONDITION:
The position requires work in both warehouse and office environments and occasional outdoor work supporting facility grounds and infrastructure. The Maintenance Technician must be available to respond to facility-related issues that could impact operational continuity and employee safety.
