About this role

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Journeyman Plumbers with diagnosing and troubleshooting plumbing system issues, including water, drain, sewer, gas, and fixture-related problems.
  • Assist with repairs, maintenance, and replacement of plumbing systems, fixtures, water heaters, pumps, and related equipment.
  • Perform drain cleaning tasks and duties
  • Support preventative maintenance inspections and routine service work.
  • Learn proper plumbing installation, repair, and troubleshooting techniques through hands-on field training.
  • Load, unload, organize, and maintain tools, equipment, and materials required for service calls.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with company policies and OSHA safety standards.
  • Complete service documentation, work orders, and daily reports accurately under the guidance of a Journeyman Plumber.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local plumbing codes and company quality standards.
  • Participate in apprenticeship training and continuing education to develop technical knowledge and advance toward Journeyman licensure.
  • Possess the ability to work solo as needed

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in or willing to enroll in a registered plumbing apprenticeship program.
  • Previous plumbing, mechanical, construction, or trade experience preferred but not required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn plumbing systems and service techniques.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently when appropriate and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, and climb for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in commercial and industrial environments, including mechanical rooms, crawl spaces, rooftops, and confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools under supervision.
  • Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and elevated surfaces.
  • Ability to respond to service calls in various weather conditions and work environments.
