Your Responsibilities
Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting & Tax Compliance professional based in Germany to support and oversee accounting, tax, and transaction compliance activities across Europe, including both EU and non-EU countries. The role will ensure compliance with German GAAP (HGB), VAT regulations, cross-border transaction requirements.
The successful candidate will act as a key finance business partner supporting regional expansion while maintaining robust financial governance and regulatory compliance
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Compliance
- Manage and ensure compliance with German GAAP (HGB) requirements and statutory reporting obligations.
- Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for German、France and UK entities.
- Coordinate external audits and support statutory filings.
- Ensure accounting treatments comply with local regulations and group accounting policies.
- Monitor changes in German accounting and regulatory requirements and assess business impacts
Tax Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales List (ESL), and other indirect tax filings across Europe.
- Support corporate income tax compliance and coordinate with external tax advisors. (E&Y)
- Manage tax audits and inquiries from local authorities.
- Monitor tax risks associated with cross-border transactions.
- Advise business teams on VAT and customs implications for European operations.
European Compliance Management
- Support transaction and tax compliance across EU member states and non-EU European countries (e.g., UK, Switzerland, Norway etc.).
- Coordinate with local service providers and finance teams across multiple jurisdictions.
- Evaluate compliance implications of new business models, supply chains, and market entries.
- Drive implementation of finance compliance controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Legal to ensure compliance across business processes.
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to mitigate compliance risks.
- Support ERP and finance system enhancements for compliance requirement
Your profile
- You have 8-10 years of experience in Accounting and Tax compliance in Germany
- Have previous team management experience
- Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of:
- German GAAP (HGB)
- VAT regulations
- Intrastat reporting
- Customs and trade compliance
- Intercompany transactions
- Transfer pricing concepts
- Financial controls and governance
- ERP experience (SAP preferred).
- Fluent English is mandatory.
- German language proficiency is strongly preferred.
