Hours: 10 hours per week - days/times to be agreed however weekend and evening availability and flexibility required
Contract: Self-Employed, Permanent

A young LGBT person needs support from a Personal Assistant to lead a fun and varied lifestyle.
Role Requirements
You will be required to support the client with:
- accessing the community
- having a shower and bathing including help getting in and out of the bath or shower (training will be provided) and support with feminine hygiene
- changing bed linen, preparing meals, food shopping, and laundry
- reaching their goals of improving their independence and continuing with their voluntary work
- transporting them to and from appointments and social events
- admin tasks such as helping with phone calls, and wording emails correctly
You must have access to your own vehicle and it must be able to accommodate a small foldable electric or manual wheelchair in its boot (the wheelchair is small and can fit in the boot of most cars). Training will be provided on how to put the wheelchair into the boot. The client has limited mobility so transfer support in and out of the car will be required.
In addition to having your own vehicle, you must:
- have mental health experience
- have a good sense of humour
- be able to adapt to a variety of situations
- be accepting of LGBT people (it is not essential that the PA is LGBT)
- be able to drive a WAV vehicle when received, van to be driven in the meantime
The client has been diagnosed with:
- Cerebral Palsy
- Chronic lung condition
- Mental health
- Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Emotional Unstable Personality disorder (EUPD)
- Mixed anxiety and Depressive disorder
They talk very quietly so will use a communication app as and when needed.
The client enjoys:
- their voluntary work
- going to the cinema
- visiting coffee shops, theme parks, and exploring new places
They will be getting a cat so would prefer support from someone who is a cat lover.
