This is an on-site position located in Vancouver, WA.

JOB SUMMARY

As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will lead and develop the manufacturing engineering function to support efficient, high-quality production processes. You will partner cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Program Management, and customers to drive process improvements, support new product introduction (NPI), and ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards. This is a highly visible leadership role with the opportunity to influence business decisions, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and shape the future of our manufacturing operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and develop the Manufacturing Engineering team, ensuring training, performance, and accountability
Drive continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing and 5S implementation
Partner with Quality, Operations, and Program Management to ensure efficient and compliant production processes
Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including risk assessments and process development
Oversee Engineering Change Order (ECO/ECN) processes and assess product/process impacts
Analyze production workflows, staffing needs, and capacity planning to optimize efficiency
Establish and monitor KPIs and implement statistical process control methods
Support CAPA processes, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
Provide technical expertise on IPC, J-STD, and electronics manufacturing standards
Review manufacturability, cost, and resource estimates for customer quotes
Coordinate equipment planning, selection, validation, and facility layout optimization
Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders on material specifications and compliance (i.e. RoHS)
Serve as a key problem-solving resource for production and customer-related inquiries

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY & SKILLS

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
10–15+ years of experience in Manufacturing (EMS preferred)
3-8+ years leadership experience managing engineering or manufacturing teams
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process optimization
Experience with NPI, ECN processes, and quality systems
Familiarity with IPC standards, ISO requirements, and regulatory compliance
Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing databases
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout a manufacturing environment
Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
Ability to work in a production setting with moderate noise and exposure to equipment
