Position Purpose

To perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the maintenance of golf course grounds and buildings. Must be able to work as a team member to ensure the golf course and surrounding areas are kept in excellent condition.

Skills

Ability to perform basic maintenance operations
Ability to clean public areas on golf course and public buildings
Care and maintain greens
General landscaping duties (weed eating, backpack blower operation, trimming, mulching, etc.)

Duties may include, but not be limited to

Operate equipment, power tools, and hand tools in maintaining golf course and public areas around the Golf Club
General Cleaning of areas on golf courses and clubhouses – i.e. golf course and public area restrooms
Weed, use leaf blower, weed eater, and pick up debris around golf courses and Clubhouses.
Precision mow greens, tees, aprons, fairways, around trees and other turf areas
Precision edge and rake sand traps; hand rake greens and sand traps
Verti-cut; aerate; and top-dress tees, greens, fairways and other turf areas
Lay sod as required
Fertilize and spray tees, greens, fairways, and other turf areas with pesticides
Water golf course grounds per prescribed methods
Change cups and maintain flags and poles
Operate and maintain power equipment used on the golf courses
Drive light vehicles such as golf carts, and utility carts
Assist with irrigation systems on golf courses
Knowledge of methods, tools, materials, and equipment used in golf course maintenance
Ability to work as a team member to accomplish daily-required duties on golf course and public areas and aide the new or less experienced worker.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
All other duties as required by management.

Requirements

Must be able to exert physical strength.
Must be able to lift heavy supplies/equipment.
Ability to work in various climates and temperatures.
Ability to work as a team member and follow directions.
Normal vision and hearing.
Must be familiar with the operations of a golf course and etiquette.
Must be able to work under pressure and perform multiple tasks.
Must be able to work outside for long periods of time.
Must have a valid drivers license.

QualificationsPOSITION QUAILIFCATIONS

Education/Credentials

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

Previous experience at a resort/club is preferred.
