Overview

The McCrary Institute for Cyber and Critical Infrastructure Security at Auburn University seeks a TES Administrative Assistant.  This position will provide varied levels of administrative and technical support to an administrative
department.

 

Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being: 
 
  • Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time 
  • Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads 
  • Assistance with special projects 
  • Seasonal work 
  • Emergencies

Responsibilities

  • Performs multiple duties which are a mix of administrative and clerical in nature, which may include but are not limited to data gathering, data management, correspondence, filing, calendar management, event scheduling, mail distribution, answering phones, organizing mail, purchasing/ordering supplies.
  • Provides budget preparation, payroll processing, travel/expense voucher processing and other accounting and financial tasks.
  • Manipulates and prepares data and other information, databases, or reports using a computer.
  • May perform some administrative duties such as budget coordination, human resources administration (beyond payroll entry), preparation of reports, documents, and presentations, or coordination of complex projects or events.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.




Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of administrative, office support, or customer service experience
  • OR  Associate's degree
  • OR  Bachelor's degree

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • The position requires excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • The ability to work basic office equipment, and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a team in a professional office environment.
  • Ability to assist with event coordination, supply management, and general administrative support task.
