Student Graphic Designer
About this role
The College of Science and Mathematics Communications and Marketing team is seeking a talented and motivated Student Graphic Designer. This position offers real-world experience in a professional setting. This role provides hands-on opportunities to create digital and print materials and a chance to contribute to marketing campaigns that showcase the college’s vision, mission, and achievements.
The ideal candidate will bring creativity, strong design skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with various marketing and communications projects, contributing to the promotion of COSAM’s goals.
- Support the development and execution of marketing and communication plans.
- Assist in the creation of digital content, including graphics, videos, and other media for COSAM’s digital platforms.
- Perform general office duties, such as responding to emails and helping prepare materials for events or campaigns.
- Help with event photography as needed.
- Assist in the creation of print and promotional materials, such as: invitations, posters, flyers, programs, t-shirts and more.
- Assist in designing meaningful pieces that both showcase COSAM and adhere to Auburn University brand guidelines.
Qualifications
- Current Auburn University student in good academic standing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to meet project deadlines
- Good judgment and professionalism when representing COSAM and Auburn University online
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and collaborate with a team
- Willingness to attend and capture content at occasional events outside regular office hours
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications include:
- Basic understanding of how to prepare pdf files for print vendors.
- Experience with photography
- Familiarity with preparing files for different color formats (RGB, CMYK, Pantone).
