About us

Dyson Singapore is currently looking for a QA Engineer to be based in our Singapore Advanced Manufacturing site to own and govern the incoming material inspection process to verify that materials conform to specifications and meet all manufacturing requirements, including escalation of quality risks.

About the role

  • Manage the Non-Conforming Material process for incoming materials, including review, disposition, closure.

  • Resolve supplier-related issues to ensure timely containment, effective resolution and continuity of supply, including Supplier Corrective Action Reports.

  • Work proactively with suppliers to identify improvement opportunities and continually improve incoming quality performance.

  • Maintain the Supplier Assessment system, including quality reports and supplier scorecards.

  • Supervise a team of QA inspectors to ensure timely, consistent and effective inspection of incoming materials.

  • Develop relevant test and inspection plans and/or criteria for incoming materials.

  • Audit suppliers periodically to ensure compliance with applicable standards.

  • Support supplier-related qualification initiatives, including new suppliers, new parts, new revisions and new tooling.

  • Manage relevant supplier quality documents, including control plans, inspection standards, part approval records, ensuring review and approval where applicable.

  • Support other factory activities, including ISO internal audits and CSER audits.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Ensure incoming materials are processed through QA in a timely manner.

  • Minimize ageing period of non-conforming incoming materials through appropriate actions.

  • Ensure supplier quality issues are resolved in a timely manner, including Corrective Actions.

  • Drive measurable improvement projects to ensure supplier performance consistently meets or exceeds quality requirements.

  • Maintain and update the supplier audit program.

  • Drive productivity improvement projects within the incoming quality section.

  • Develop and manage/ supervise a team of competent Incoming QA inspectors.

  • Report key performance metrics to management, providing insights on quality trends, supplier risks, containment status and improvement effectiveness.

About you

  • Degree in Electronics/Mechatronics/Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in supplier quality, incoming quality, or manufacturing quality, with proven experience leading supplier issue resolution and quality improvement activities.

  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles and their application, including quality tools and techniques such as Fishbone diagram, Pareto analysis, Cause-and-Effect analysis, DPPM tracking, and trend analysis.

  • Familiarity with root cause analysis, 8D methodology, CAPA, or supplier corrective action processes would be an advantage.

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and supplier audit requirements.

  • Able to read and interpret part drawings, including GD&T requirements.

  • Knowledge of basic statistical principles and their application is preferred.

  • Knowledge and practical experience with measurement equipment such as CMM and vision measurement systems would be an added advantage.

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications and SAP, with working knowledge of statistical software such as Minitab considered an advantage.

  • Where needed, able to work flexible hours to handle work/scheduling demands.

  • Where required, able to travel at short notice to support supplier-related issues.

  • Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
