Information Technology IT Technician
Position Summary: The IT Technician will provide maintenance of the computer desktop environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing and removing hardware and software from computer systems, and supporting the internal IT Help Desk. The IT Technician will be responsible for administration and internal support of the company’s PC’s, printers, scanners, and related equipment. Tasks include end user support, license tracking, ticket generation and completion, and performing PC maintenance, upgrades, and configurations. The qualified applicant will also work closely with IT Management to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
•Provides computer support via telephone, email and face-to-face contact
•Troubleshoots computer equipment when problems reported
•Ensures that all hardware and software are installed and operating properly
•Assists with onboarding of new users
•Maintains inventory of all equipment, software, and software licenses
•Reports hardware and software issues to vendors and coordinate support
•Performs timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required
•Documents internal procedures
•Monitors Helpdesk for tickets assigned to the queue and process first-in first-out based on priority
•Assists after hours to provide support as needed
•Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
•Associate’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Communications or related field
•Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
•Ability to multi-task
•Ability to exhibit professional and patient conduct under pressure within a fast-paced team environment
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Products. Professional certifications desired
•Demonstrates working knowledge of current communications devices and protocols
•Demonstrates analytical and troubleshooting skills with ability to troubleshoot end to end systems
•Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving and time-management skills
•Strong teamwork, planning and coordination skills
•Self-motivation, adaptability and the ability to meet aggressive deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Communications or related field
•In lieu of degree, 5 to 6 years of experiences providing IT Helpdesk support
Additional Requirements
•Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD SECRET Clearance, as necessary
•Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Azure, Windows, and Microsoft Office products. Professional certifications, such as CompTIA A+
•Passport or work authorization requirements to work in the U.S.
Working Conditions:
•Monday through Friday 8 am – 5 pm; flexible based on business needs
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and operating office equipment
• Ability to view computer screens for extended periods, with close vision and the ability to adjust focus
• Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching within the office environment and on aircraft
• Ability to lift and move items up to approximately 10–20 pounds (e.g., files, office supplies)
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities
• Ability to maintain focus and perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail
• Regularly works in office environment and around aircraft hangars
Pay Band: $21.00-$27.16 per hour. Starting pay is determined by experience, qualifications, and internal equity, and typically falls between the minimum and midpoint of the pay range.
