POSITION SUMMARY:

The Research Associate will report to the chair of the department and will be responsible for running instrumentation in the Environmental and Water Resources Laboratory.  This will be primarily water quality testing for drinking, waste, and ambient/environmental samples.  As a teaching facility, the Research Associate will also teach research students how to use the instrumentation and present in classes on how to use the instruments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach students how to operate instruments.

Support research operations.

Completes other duties as assigned.



REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, engineering or a related field from an accredited educational institution.

Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Analytical water testing. 

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community.
