POSITION SUMMARY:
General maintenance mechanic duties as assigned by a Maintenance Supervisor in
areas of installations, maintenance, and repair of all components associated
with plumbing.
DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspects, adjusts, service, and repairs plumbing fixtures and systems and all
elements and components associated with plumbing operation;
Assists in
preparation of material lists;
Maintains
records;
Diagnoses and
correct deficiencies in existing plumbing systems.
Completes other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Highschool diploma or equivalent, or vocational school degree
.
Plumber’s license
issued by Allegheny County and a PA Driver’s License – Class I.
Minimum 5 years
of experience.
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of
experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities
required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not
limited to, the following:
Knowledge of plumbing and plumbing sanitary codes;
Ability to work
others; ability to perform physically demanding work;
Ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University
Community.
