POSITION SUMMARY:
The Application Systems Analyst II position is responsible for providing
ongoing support and maintenance for mission critical applications as well as
assisting with the enhancement and expansion of their use across campus. Responsibilities include requirements
gathering, specification writing, application configuration, account and access
management, upgrades and patching, documentation, end-user training and the
architecture of solutions to resolve business needs across custom and
third-party applications. This position
is responsible for troubleshooting and helping determine if software is being
used to its maximum potential.
DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with functional users to define requirements including maintenance
schedules, account creations and deletions, permissions, data access plans,
testing, reporting strategies and obtains proper sign-offs. Identify opportunities that can improve
efficiency of business processes related to technological solutions.
Assist with and
maintain integration with other systems such as the Banner ERP software. Work with functional departments and CTS
colleagues to ensure data accuracy and integrity between and among third party
applications.
Perform
unsupervised application administration and maintenance functions in support of
production, test and development environments for various applications
including installing and upgrading software, installations of service packs,
patches, hot fixes, etc. as required.
Leadership with
basic tasks and projects and provide timeline estimates for small projects
Field incoming
problem tickets from end users to resolve application and software issues for mission
critical systems. Enter and manage
service requests with third party software vendors.
Evaluate proposed solutions and take
necessary maintenance and troubleshooting actions to resolve basic technical
issues.
Maintain and
upgrade vendor supplied equipment (UKG time clocks, card swipe readers). Ensure accuracy and integrity of integration
between data collection devices and back end systems.
Provide
functional and application support for custom built process automation
workflows and forms (TeamDynamix/iPaaS).
Assist in the
documentation, development and delivery of end user software application
training.
Support and
enforce security procedures and best practices at all times. Help to identify and investigate security
risks.
Completes other
duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a technology related field from an accredited educational
institution.
3-5 years of
relevant work experience.
Alternately, the
successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and
training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform
the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the
following:
Understanding of business objectives and technology as well as the underlying
data needs of the end user offices that are supported.
Excellent problem
solving skills.
Excellent written
and oral communication skills.
Classroom or
professional experience with SQL, relational database concepts and data
modeling, preferably in an oracle environment is preferred.
Basic knowledge
of SSL, DNS, networking, ports, hosts and other concepts as they relate to
applications systems.
Ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University
Community.
