System Architect Summary: Serves as the System Architect by defining and communicating the system architecture, solution enablers, non-functional requirements, integration approach, and technical roadmap needed to deliver secure, scalable, and adaptable capability across technologies.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional preferred), Appian Certified Lead Developer, SAFe® for Architects (ARCH).
  • 10+ years of systems architecture experience supporting DoD environments, including enterprise architecture, systems integration, application modernization, Appian-based solution delivery, Architecture Decision Record governance, integration patterns, and secure cloud-based enterprise solutions
  • Extensive experience with Appian, Java, AWS EKS, high-availability design, interface design for GEX and PRDS/PDS, and DevSecOps practices
  • Experience designing Appian enterprise architectures and solution frameworks
  • Ability to define technical standards and oversee implementation across the development lifecycle
  • Experience with system integration, application modernization, and data architecture
  • Experience supporting cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Demonstrated experience supporting cloud-based environments, with foundational knowledge of leading platforms and associated services.
  • Working knowledge of AI concepts and practical applications

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced cloud, architecture, or Appian certifications are preferred
  • Experience with Army or DoD enterprise systems, Appian-first design approaches, data architecture, and long-range modernization planning is strongly desired

 Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain the ACWS system architecture, technical vision, and architectural runway
  • Establish solution enablers, non-functional requirements, integration patterns, and system design guidance for Agile teams
  • Guide technical implementation decisions to support scalability, maintainability, security, interoperability, and future technology adoption
  • Support feasibility and impact assessments for new technologies, capabilities, and emerging requirements
  • Communicate the architectural vision and coordinate with partners, stakeholders, and delivery teams to ensure coherent system evolution

The posted salary range is a good-faith estimate. Actual compensation will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and other job-related factors.

$175,000$185,000 USD
