Role Summary/Purpose

We are seeking a Sales & Business Development Manager – Water Infrastructure to drive growth and market adoption of Kobus trenchless service replacement technologies throughout the North American water utility market. This role combines technical sales, business development, market development, and customer support activities to create

sustainable demand among water utilities, engineering firms, municipalities, contractors, and channel partners. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor, helping customers reduce project costs, minimize disruption, improve safety, and accelerate water infrastructure renewal initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to expand Kobus adoption within the North American water utility market.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with municipalities, water utilities, contractors, distribution channels, and industry stakeholders.
  • Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, industry events, and targeted market development activities.
  • Conduct customer presentations, technical reviews, product demonstrations, and solution evaluations.
  • Support pilot projects, field trials, customer onboarding, implementation activities, and product training.
  • Engage engineering consultants and utility stakeholders to promote inclusion of Kobus technologies within project specifications and standards.
  • Develop and support channel partner programs, including training, joint customer visits, and territory growth planning.
  • Maintain CRM opportunities, provide forecasting and market intelligence, and support annual budgeting and growth planning activities.

Overnight Travel

  • Approximately 60% or more travel throughout North America, including travel by air and automobile.

Requirements & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales, business development, utility operations, engineering, or infrastructure industry experience.
  • Demonstrated success selling technical products, equipment, or services into municipal, utility, or contractor markets.
  • Strong understanding of water utility infrastructure, service line replacement, underground construction, or trenchless technologies.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze technical applications and recommend customer solutions.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial mindset with a strong desire to build markets and create opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience working with water utilities, municipal infrastructure programs, or lead service line replacement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of trenchless construction methods and underground utility replacement practices.
  • Existing relationships within the water utility, consulting engineering, or contractor community.
  • Experience working with channel partners, distributors, or manufacturer's representatives.
  • Familiarity with state and federal infrastructure funding programs.
  • Strong leadership, accountability, customer focus, and consultative selling skills.
