D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Capital Markets Special Projects Lead. The right candidate will support the Sr. Vice President of Capital Markets by leading critical initiatives, governance activities, contract review, and reporting across the department. This role combines project leadership, analytical rigor, legal document review, and executive reporting to ensure successful execution of key Capital Markets initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Lead and coordinate multiple cross-functional capital markets projects from initiation through completion
Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, and accountability frameworks to ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives
Identify risks, dependencies, and obstacles, and proactively develop mitigation strategies
Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to senior leadership
Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive collaboration, alignment, and project success
Review legal agreements, contracts, amendments, and related transaction documentation
Compare current agreements against prior versions and historical documents to identify key changes, risks, obligations, and business impacts
Develop senior-level summaries highlighting critical terms, modifications, and decision points
Review, analyze, and validate dashboards and performance reporting
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), project metrics, and strategic objectives
Identify trends, risks, opportunities, and emerging issues requiring senior leadership attention
Provide high-level administrative and strategic support to the SVP of Capital Markets, including meeting preparation and follow-up on critical deliverables
Coordinate presentations, travel schedules, strategic planning materials, and related meeting logistics as needed
- Ability to work in Austin office on occasion
Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
Four to six years of related experience and/or training
Ability to handle confidential information in a professional and discrete manner
Ability to organize and prioritize large volumes of information
Provide attention to detail and manage multiple responsibilities
Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff in addition to external companies and vendors
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
Proficiency with the latest computer technology, particularly Microsoft Office, including Copilot.
Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
- The noise level is generally moderate
Preferred Qualifications
Meeting planning experience preferred
Experience within mortgage finance, capital markets or secondary marketing is preferred
- Experience creating executive dashboards and business intelligence reporting is preferred
