About this role
Position Summary
The Dangerous Goods (DG) / Regulatory Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring
full compliance with all regulatory requirements governing the handling, storage, transport,
and documentation of hazardous materials. This role provides operational leadership,
oversees DG programs, supports audits, and drives continuous improvement to ensure a
safe, compliant, and efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and international regulations
governing hazardous materials (DOT, IATA, IMDG, OSHA, EPA, etc.).
• Maintain expert knowledge of regulatory updates and communicate changes to
leadership and affected teams.
• Oversee proper classification, labeling, packaging, documentation, and placarding
of DG shipments.
Operations & Safety Management
• Manage day-to-day DG operations related to receiving, storing, picking, packing,
and shipping hazardous materials.
• Conduct DG-specific risk assessments and implement hazard control measures.
• Ensure proper segregation, storage, and disposal of dangerous goods in accordance
with regulatory and company standards.
• Investigate DG incidents, spills, or near-misses and lead corrective action plans.
Training & Development
• Develop and deliver DG training programs to certify employees in hazardous
materials handling and transport procedures.
• Ensure all training records, certifications, and recertifications are up to date and
compliant.
• Coach team members on best practices, safety procedures, and operational
standards.
