Director- People Romania

The role

We are actively looking for a People Director based in Constanta, Romania to manage the recruitment function for the whole of Romania. The role will report to the Head of HR for Ports and Terminals in Europe and a dotted line to the CEO of Romania and will be part of the leadership team. You will be working the majority of your time at Constanta port and will develop  the strategic HR vision for the country.

DP World run one of the largest ports in the country and you will spend the vast majority of your time developing the people capability of the port. We also have a freight management and freight forwarding capability in Romania and you will manage the people functions for those pillars as well. This role is part of a growing business and may have other capabilities that may came online in the business in the future.

You will manage a small team supporting and developing them to help carry out key functions that not only are part of legal compliance but provide the capability to help elevate the performance of the port and freight teams. You will be a coach and HR counsel to the leadership team and provide them advice for any changes or key strategic goals.

You also manage he day to day activity of the team including yearly appraisal cycles, union negotations, pay reviews, development plans amongst other things. You will be comfortable dealing with both operational and strategic plans. This is an exciting time to join DP World as we grow from being a ports and terminal business into an end to end logistics provider.

So, who are we looking for?

Key skills and experience include:

• Extensive HR leadership experience from within manufacturing, logistics or related businesses
• Strong management skills and the ability to develop internal staff
• Previous experience of managing blue and white collar populations
• Experience of union negotiations
• The ability to deal with multiple stakeholders both internal and stakeholders
• A pragmatic approach that will balance conflicting viewpoints and projects to acheieve the best outcome for DP World
• Fluency in English and Romanian is essential
