Water Serviceperson

Tauranga · On-site

About this role

Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

Most people don't think about their water supply until something goes wrong.

That's where you come in.

As a Water Serviceperson, you'll be part of the team that responds when there's a leak, a fault, or a customer needing help. You'll work across Tauranga and the Western Bay of Plenty helping maintain and repair water infrastructure that thousands of people rely on every day.

This isn't a job where you'll spend your day staring at a computer screen. You'll be out in the field with an experienced crew, solving problems, responding to faults, carrying out maintenance and helping keep communities connected to essential services. Whether it's a planned maintenance job or an unexpected network issue, you'll be someone who helps get things back on track.

You'll learn how water networks operate, use modern technology to capture field information and work alongside people who are passionate about what they do. The role also offers opportunities to build new skills through training in areas such as traffic management, confined spaces and network operations.

If you enjoy practical work, like being part of a team and get satisfaction from solving problems and seeing the results of your efforts at the end of the day, you'll fit right in.

Mōu koe | About You

You don't need to know everything about water networks on day one.

What matters most is your attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn.

You'll bring:

  • A Full Class 1 Driver Licence
  • A practical, hands-on approach to work
  • The ability to communicate well with teammates, customers and the public
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to get stuck in
  • Basic computer skills and confidence using mobile devices
  • A positive attitude and a commitment to working safely
  • Experience in civil construction, infrastructure or utilities is advantageous but not essential
  • Class 2 and W, T, R endorsements are beneficial but not required

We're looking for someone who turns up ready to contribute, takes pride in a job well done and enjoys being part of a crew that works together to get the job done safely and efficiently.
