The Opportunity
At Downer Energy & Utilities, we deliver critical infrastructure that powers and connects communities across Australia. We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Advisor to play a key role in the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects, with a focus on transmission lines, substations and large-scale capital works programs.
You will support both bid and project mobilisation activities through the development and execution of sourcing and contracting strategies. You will lead supplier and subcontractor engagement, manage complex sourcing activities, negotiate commercial outcomes and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
Please note we are open to receiving applications from candidates based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane – flexible working and WFH arrangements are supported.
What We're Looking For
- Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Engineering, Construction Management, Commerce or a related discipline, with postgraduate qualifications or an MBA highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience of 7+ years in capital project procurement within the energy, infrastructure or resources sectors.
- Proven success supporting high value bids and tenders across public or private sector projects.
- Strong experience managing complex procurement packages, including long lead time and internationally sourced equipment and services.
- Well developed commercial acumen with strong negotiation, stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities.
- Knowledge of Australian construction markets, forms of contract and procurement governance processes.
- A proactive, adaptable and solutions focused approach, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
