The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Procurement & Logistics Lead to join our Energy & Utilities team supporting a major contract. This is a key role responsible for overseeing procurement governance, logistics operations, inventory management, supplier performance, and commercial controls across a complex operational environment. The role is accountable for ensuring procurement activities are compliant, efficient, and aligned with project and client requirements while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence. 

Working closely with project delivery teams, commercial stakeholders, suppliers, and supply chain partners, you will provide strategic leadership to procurement and logistics functions while leading a small team and supporting the successful delivery of critical Energy & Utilities services. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading procurement governance, cost allocation, asset ownership validation, and commercial compliance activities. 
    • Managing sourcing activities, requests for quotation, subcontract work orders, and supplier engagement. 
    • Overseeing inventory control, catalogue management, and warehouse transactions. 
    • Driving inbound and outbound logistics operations, transportation planning, and freight management. 
    • Leading and developing logistics coordinators and purchasing team members to achieve high performance outcomes. 
    • Supporting supplier evaluation, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives. 
    • Identifying opportunities to improve supply chain performance, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency. 
    • Managing supply chain related risks and opportunities while supporting strategic business decisions. 

What We're Looking For

  • Tertiary qualifications in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience. 
    • Demonstrated experience of 10+ years in supply chain, procurement, project management, construction, utilities, oil and gas, or similar industries. 
    • Strong leadership experience managing logistics, inventory, purchasing, or supply chain teams. 
    • Experience managing outsourced warehousing and distribution providers. 
    • Sound knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, transport logistics, and commercial controls. 
    • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills. 
    • Advanced capability using ERP systems, warehouse management systems, and Excel.
