About this role

While we welcome applications from all members and will conduct a recruitment and selection process, we would like to be transparent that a preferred candidate has been identified for this position.

The Global Head of Portfolio Management has the mission to help manage the company as one integrated enterprise portfolio.

This role is responsible for translating portfolio strategy into clear, deliberate choices on where DLL should invest, expand, optimize, or exit across markets, products, programs, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships. It will bring greater discipline to how portfolio decisions are made, tracked, and realized across the enterprise.

As Head of Global Portfolio Management, you will lead the development of a portfolio management capability that connects strategic ambition with commercial and financial outcomes. You will ensure decisions are grounded in strategic fit, value creation, and risk, while also applying a critical value-stream lens to determine not just where DLL plays, but how DLL delivers value through Flow, Assisted Flow, Concierge, and Commercial Finance.

This is a highly cross-functional role, working closely with Markets, Finance, BI Hub, Commercial Strategy, and other enterprise leaders to drive aligned, data-driven portfolio decisions without taking execution ownership away from the Markets.

Your Mission

You will establish and lead DLL’s global portfolio management discipline, ensuring the organization operates with greater clarity, consistency, and enterprise-level decision-making.

  • Define the portfolio logic, decision rules, guardrails, and governance cadence needed to manage DLL as one enterprise portfolio
  • Translate analysis into clear recommendations on where to invest, scale, optimize, simplify, or exit
  • Drive portfolio choices across markets, products, programs, JVs, and partnerships
  • Embed a value-stream perspective into portfolio decisions, ensuring resource allocation reflects stream economics, customer experience, and delivery complexity
  • Create a proactive rhythm of portfolio reviews that enables early intervention, timely reallocation, and better strategic trade-offs
  • Ensure portfolio decisions are followed through, tracked, and linked to realized value

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Portfolio Leadership

  • Lead DLL’s enterprise-wide portfolio management approach across markets, products, programs, customer segments, JVs, and strategic partnerships
  • Build and maintain an integrated view of the portfolio, identifying where DLL should accelerate, expand, optimize, or exit
  • Ensure portfolio choices are aligned to strategic priorities, financial returns, customer value, and risk considerations
  • Own the overall portfolio narrative: where DLL is placing its bets, why, and where it will stop or simplify

Portfolio Prioritization and Decision Support

  • Develop and manage prioritization frameworks that assess opportunities and trade-offs based on value, feasibility, risk, and strategic fit
  • Translate portfolio analysis into practical recommendations for senior decision-making
  • Prepare executive-ready decision packs, heatmaps, scenarios, and reallocation proposals
  • Support business cases and investment choices with a clear portfolio and value-creation lens

Value Stream Portfolio Management

  • Apply the value-stream model to major portfolio decisions across Flow, Assisted Flow, Concierge, and Commercial Finance
  • Ensure programs, channels, partners, and offers are mapped to the right delivery model
  • Identify and support conversion opportunities across value streams where appropriate
  • Guide resource allocation using stream economics, including margin, cost-to-serve, complexity, customer experience, and risk

Governance and Operating Rhythm

  • Establish and lead a clear portfolio governance cadence, including:
    • Monthly Portfolio Pulse to monitor performance and trigger early intervention
    • Quarterly Portfolio Reviews to support reallocation and structural portfolio decisions
    • Commercial Portfolio Council / QBRs to resolve cross-market trade-offs and enterprise choices
  • Ensure portfolio decisions are documented, tracked, and acted upon
  • Monitor value realization and portfolio performance, highlighting variances, drift, and corrective actions

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Markets, Finance, BIA, Commercial Strategy, Operations, Risk, and Digital
  • Work with BIA to shape analytical priorities and ensure decision-grade insights are available
  • Collaborate with Finance to connect portfolio decisions to planning, performance management, and KPI governance
  • Integrate external market insights, customer experience perspectives, and commercial enablement requirements into portfolio decisions

Team Structure

You will lead a high-impact global team of 4 FTEs

The team is expected to include:

  • Global Head of Portfolio Management
  • Portfolio Leads covering key geographies and strategic areas
  • Portfolio Strategy / Insights support focused on decision packs, scenario development, and portfolio storytelling

Analytical depth will continue to come from the BIA team, ensuring the team remains focused on portfolio decisions rather than duplicating analytics capability.

Skills and Capabilities Required

We are looking for a strategic and commercially minded leader who can build credibility across senior stakeholders and turn complexity into clear action.

You bring:

  • Strong experience in portfolio management, strategy, commercial transformation, or a related discipline
  • Proven ability to translate analysis into clear decisions, recommendations, and executive trade-offs
  • Strong understanding of financial value drivers, prioritization, investment logic, and risk
  • Experience operating in complex, matrixed, multi-market environments
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the ability to lead without direct P&L ownership
  • Excellent communication and storytelling capabilities
  • A structured, data-driven mindset combined with strong business judgment
  • Comfort working in ambiguity and building a capability from the ground up
  • Experience in financial services, leasing, vendor finance, commercial finance, or other complex B2B environments is valuable, but not essential.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means DLL is making better, faster, and more consistent portfolio decisions across the enterprise.

This includes:

  • Clearer choices on where to invest, optimize, or exit
  • Stronger enterprise-wide prioritization and resource allocation
  • Greater discipline in pricing, simplification, and portfolio mix
  • Better follow-through on agreed decisions
  • Improved value realization across markets and strategic initiatives

A strong signal of success is that Markets can clearly articulate their top portfolio priorities, stop/start decisions, and value-stream shifts, and that enterprise trade-offs are being made with confidence and consistency.
