Business Controller

As Business Controller, you will help DLL make sharper, more fact-based financial and commercial decisions by turning performance data, pricing insights, profitability analysis and capital considerations into clear business advice.

Working within Business Advice, you will act as the strategic finance business partner for the CCO and COO domains, ensuring DLL’s growth, profitability and capital efficiency ambitions are translated into robust plans, transparent performance management and actionable steering insights. You need be an ambassador in the organization to move toward a more market-led model with stronger accountability, clearer financial guardrails and better steering toward “Straight to 8” CROIC. 

In this role, you will support the business control team with preparing sound business cases, support markets and business units with making financial analyses and  

You will work closely with Commercial, Operations, Markets, Treasury, Risk and Finance teams to ensure DLL understands where value is created, where performance is off-track, and where management action is required.

Your Mission

  • Be a member within DLL’s group-wide Business Advice, within the CFO domain, providing asked and unasked support and insights on performance-related topics.
  • Support the senior business control as finance business partner for CCO and COO, providing clear financial advice, challenge and decision support for New Business Development, contract pricing and vendor program reviews. 
  • Support the business control team in creating actionable insights that help DLL steer toward 8% CROIC, including reporting, monitoring and course-correction recommendations, including identification of opportunities to further improve performance across markets and/ or industries.
  • Support in the negotiation of new/ changing vendor programs to ensure DLL achieves its long-term ambitions
  • Support in developing business cases for new programs, program reviews or program evaluations
  • Develop pricing monitoring tools and perform monitoring activities on pricing related topics.
  • Review and challenge commercial projections from both the CCO and COO domain to ensure profitable growth can be achieved.
  • Support Markets in operating with freedom within the frame by helping to develop clear targets, policies, tools, and performance transparency. 
  • Foster a culture of fact-based decision making, constructive challenges, accountability, and continuous performance improvement.

 

Skills and Capabilities Required

  • Experience in finance, business partnering, performance management, business control, or strategic finance.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Ability to translate complex financial information into clear, explainable language. 
  • Experience with profitability steering, pricing, or CROIC-related performance metrics. 
  • A team-player 
  • Good stakeholder management within the CFO domain and Business Advice team 
  • Analytical mindset with ability to identify performance drivers, risks and improvement opportunities. 
  • Ability to balance growth, profitability, risk, cost, and capital considerations. 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics for executive decision making. 
  • Ability to create structure, discipline, and transparency in performance processes. 
  • Business partnership mindset with focus on practical recommendations and measurable outcomes. 
  • Openness to improving finance processes, tools, and ways of working in line with DLL’s transformation agenda.

Applicable pay ranges:

US: $111,045 - 166,567
Canada: $102,477 - 153,715
Italy: €62.675,20 - 94.012,80
 

DLL is considering candidates in numerous locations. The pay estimate displayed represents the typical pay range for candidates hired for this position in the desired primary work location. Pay may be adjusted outside the projected range based on geographical differentiation as well as for any other lawful reason. Additional factors that may be used to determine your actual pay include your specific skills, years of relevant experience you possess, and other work-related qualifications. Many candidates may start in the bottom half of the applicable pay range, especially those with less experience or qualification.

This position is subject to the terms of DLL’s compensation plans and policies. Further, the position includes all other benefits provided to DLL employees, including healthcare benefits, 401k matching, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, possible discretionary bonuses, and all other benefits that are all governed by and subject to ERISA plan documents and eligibility.
